Pervasive Computing
Pervasive Computing is a blend of basic prinpiples from distributed, embedded and interactive systems with methods from communication, collaboration and coordination. It targets innovative next generation IT, that is able to react on people behavior by miniaturizing and invisibly embedding micro electronics into arbitrary objects that perfectly fit into our daily life environments. The outcome of the goal oriented coordinated collaboration of a multitude of small, embedded, distributed, spontaneously networked, wireless components are Pervasive Computing Systems that are invisible, yet omni present, and react on users and environments without the need for active user participation.
Pervasive Advertising
Digital displays are virtually everywhere and in public spaces they are more and more replacing traditional billboards, posters and shop windows. Besides animated content and up-to-date information, digital displays also allow reacting on viewers and passers-by. In order to successfully communicate with the target group, technologies are required that enable viewer identification and/or reconigion of a viewer's interests and needs.
Pervasive Display Systems
Ranging form sub inch, wrist worn watch displays, to double inch size displays embedded into mobile phones and PDAs, to 10"- 30" displays of traditional personal computer systems, 40"-100" displays in entertainment, advertising and education systems, up to huge, 500-1000m² public screen systems, displays are a truly pervasive technology surrounding us in almost any life situation.
